About Rankd · Port Richey, Florida
A local SEO team that grew up inside a plumbing and AC company
Rankd started as the marketing office at Team Farrell, the Port Richey group behind Farrell Plumbing and Farrell Air Conditioning. We still build and run both of their websites. Now we do the same work for other plumbing, HVAC, roofing and electrical companies.
Where we started
It started with one question from the owners
Rankd began as the in-house marketing office at Team Farrell in Port Richey. Farrell Plumbing has served Port Richey since 2013, and Farrell Air Conditioning has served Pasco and Hernando since 2015. The job was to keep their trucks busy up and down US 19, and later out of new offices on Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill.
The owners never asked where they ranked. They asked which calls turned into jobs, and what each of those jobs cost. A report full of rankings and clicks could not answer that, so we built the answer ourselves: a tracking number for every source, every call matched to a job in Housecall Pro, and one number at the end, the cost per booked job.
Along the way we built and rebuilt the Farrell websites, wrote their city pages and cost guides, ran their Google Business Profiles and Local Services Ads, and reported the fake listings that crowd the map near Port Richey and Spring Hill.
Rankd now offers that same work to other home service companies. Every method still gets tried on the Farrell trucks first, and you can check the results on the sites we run.
“We grew to 9 plumbing vans across Port Richey and Spring Hill, but for years we couldn't tell which ads were actually filling them. Rankd tied our calls to real booked jobs, so we finally see what every marketing dollar brings back. We cut the dead weight and put it where the work is.”
Farrell Plumbing and Farrell Air Conditioning are Team Farrell companies, and Rankd grew out of Team Farrell. We say so wherever we use their work.
How we measure
Why booked jobs are the measure
Rankings are useful, and we track them. But a shop can rank first for a search nobody calls from, and a missed call costs the same whether you ranked first or fifth. So the number we report on is booked jobs.
What a lot of SEO reports lead with
- Keyword rankings
- Website visits
- Clicks and impressions
- A chart that goes up and to the right
What our monthly report leads with
- Calls by source
- Which of those calls booked a job
- What each booked job cost
- A plain note when a channel is not paying off
Rankings and map pack scans are still in the report, below the calls. Read why we track cost per booked job instead of cost per lead, how call tracking works, and why your booking rate can matter as much as your rankings.
How we work
Six rules we hold ourselves to
-
01
We measure booked jobs
Every client gets call tracking by source, matched to jobs, and a monthly report on what each booked job cost.
-
02
We write about real places
Pages name the towns, roads, permit offices and storm seasons your customers live with. We never publish the same page with the town name swapped.
-
03
We say when a channel is not worth it
If an ad channel or a directory is not booking jobs for you, the report says so, and we tell you to stop paying for it.
-
04
We test it on our own trucks first
We still run the Farrell Plumbing and Farrell Air Conditioning sites, so new ideas get tried there before we offer them to you.
-
05
We are honest about timing
Local SEO takes months, not weeks. If you need calls next week, we will point you to Local Services Ads first.
-
06
We price after the audit
Our services are custom priced after a free audit, based on your trade, your towns and what you need. The audit costs nothing.

Our software
Software we built for our own shops
We built both tools to answer our own questions at Team Farrell. Each one is sold on its own with a free trial, with or without our SEO work.
It grew out of how we matched Farrell calls to booked jobs. It shows any shop which ads actually book work.
AI role-play calls that grade your CSRs. A booked job starts with how the phone gets answered.
Where we work
Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas, plus one coast over
Our home base is Port Richey, between US 19 and the Gulf. Most of our work is in west Pasco and Hernando, and Farrell Plumbing has a third office in Palm Harbor. We also run the site for a plumbing company in West Palm Beach, so our methods get tested outside Tampa Bay too.
